Northstar Computer Resource was established in 1993. The age of the personal computer had recently dawned. The World Wide Web had not yet been created. Email was not yet in common usage outside of academia. But computer technology was exploding and businesses were the first to harness its power. We saw a need and committed to provide support for this revolution. Twenty years later we are still fulfilling that mission. Technology has advanced in ways we couldn’t imagine back then, but over the years we’ve grown with the industry. Along the way we changed our name to Northstar IT to reflect the expanding nature of technology – from basic computers to a full range of interconnected devices and services that have become so integral to our businesses and lives. Today we support a wide variety of local businesses and have become an integral partner in their success.

Northstar IT is a local, family-run business located in Bellingham. It is owned by Steven and Brenda Mills. Steven provides the technical expertise and Brenda assists with administrative and marketing functions. Steven, originally from the UK, is an avid soccer fan and cyclist, and when not working with clients he can be found pedaling his bike on the back roads of Whatcom County or playing one of his (many) guitars. Brenda is also a real estate broker with Windermere and has been a successful agent since 1989. They have a teenage son who is a talented artist and musician.

Our business philosophy is simple. Be exceptional at what we do. Care about our clients’ needs. Treat people fairly and with respect. This mantra has carried us over the past 20 years and we expect it will continue to serve us, and our clients, well into the future.
